This week on Health on Earth, we heard from Dr. Kanayo Nwanze, President of the International Fund for Agricultural Development. Lowan and President Nwanze spoke about developing rural agriculture through empowering farmers with entrepreneurial skills-building and facilitating access to markets. We also heard about supporting indigenous approaches to agriculture, about the Millennium Development Goals and about the Sustainable Development Goals. Dr. Nwanze also showed us how food agricultural development and food security have implications for migration and political unrest, and for climate change. Dr. Nwanze also shared his insights on leadership and advocacy for sustainable agricultural development. This show was part of our annual coverage of the McGill Global Food Security Conference.
