From the Archives of the McGill Daily

December 16 2014

In this episode we reflect on the deaths of Michael Brown, Eric Garner and Tamir Rice and dig into the topic of police violence in the United States from a slightly different angle. Anvita speaks with Professor Hannah Cooper from Emory University, Atlanta about the epidemiology of police violence- looking at who is affected and how such violence can impact their health. Next, we speak with Harmony Rodriguez from Pennsylvania, about the experiences of trans* women in particular, both on their exposure to police violence and the barriers they may confront in the healthcare system.
