This week, we dug deeper into issues related to migrant farmers' health by speaking directly with Migrante Canada and Fuerza/Puwersa, who specifically work with Filipino Migrants (care givers and farmers). I spoke to Teresa Agustin, the chairperson of Migrante Canada, to do a follow up on the huge typhoon Haiyan (Yolanda) took place 5 months ago on November 8, 2013. I also spoke with Edurado Huesca of Fuersa/ Pwersa in Guelph, who has laid ground works for some Southern Ontario based volunteer run migrant worker health clinics. He shared with us the human rights challenges related to occupational and mental health.
